The RE Program is providing religious education over Facebook on the group called UUFCM RE Program (Click here to go to the RE Facebook group). Beginning on May 10th, virtual RE lessons will be posted every other week to the Facebook group instead of every week. Our Kids' Coffee Hour will continue to be held every Sunday at 11:45 a.m. over Webex for check-ins, games, and themed activities (Click here on Sundays to join the Kids' Coffee Hour).
The RE Program is providing religious education over Facebook on the group called UUFCM RE Program (Click here to go to the RE Facebook group). Guardians and children who are not already members in the group can request to join by clicking the link or searching for the group in Facebook. People who are not already members in the group will be prompted to answer a couple quick screening questions before joining. Virtual RE lessons will be posted to the group every week. These lessons will include a theme reflection, a story, a mindfulness exercise, and an activity. Other parent/family resources will be posted to the group page throughout the week as well. If families have any requests for crafts, activities, resources, or religious education materials designed for family participation, please reach out to Kendra over Facebook or through email at [email protected]. A Story for All Ages will also be part of our Sunday worship Zoom call every week. In addition, right after the worship ends, families and children are invited to a special RE call on Webex for a Kids' Coffee Hour every Sunday (Click here on Sundays to join the Kids' Coffee Hour).
The RE Program will provide religious education in the upcoming weeks over Facebook on the group called UUFCM RE Program. Guardians and children who are not already members in the group can request to join by searching for the group in Facebook then answering a couple quick questions. Individual components of our typical RE lessons are continuing to be ironed out (e.g., chalice lighting, a story, a mindfulness activity, a craft, etc.) and will be posted at the end of this week, so please continue to check our Facebook group for posts, updates, and videos. Other parent/family resources will be posted to the group page throughout the week as well. If families have any requests for crafts, activities, resources, or religious education materials designed for family participation, please reach out to Kendra over Facebook or through email at [email protected].
After service on Sunday, March 15, children and families are invited to the RE’s Grow Your Own Luck event! At this event, children will be able to paint a flower pot, then plant seeds to watch them grow into lucky four-leaf clovers! Lots of Saint Patrick’s-themed snacks and treats will be offered as well. If your child(ren) are able to make it to this event, please let Kendra know at [email protected].
The sap was certainly flowing on Sunday when we tapped a couple maple trees around the perimeter of the church! Children were able to see/taste tree sap, turn a small amount of it into sugar, learn how to identify maple trees, and learn when/how to tap them... and of course everyone got to sample some of last year's syrup (with waffles) from Aaron Jones’s own collection! A special thank-you goes to Aaron for leading this fun and informational event for the children. Keep an eye out for our white collection buckets in the upcoming weeks – families will be checking them to make sure the sap is still running and the buckets are not overflowing. Fingers crossed for a bountiful syrup season! |
